SYNOPSIS

Originally developed for the theater by director Márcio Meirelles, the play Ó Paí,Ó was a success showing the synthesis of the fight of the residents and regulars of Pelourinho, the center of cultural effervescence in Salvador. It went from the stage to movie theaters in 2007 and in the following year it became a series with six episodes on Rede Globo channel. In 2009 the residents of Pelourinho returned to the TV in a second season with four episodes.

The series is an irreverent and musical depiction of a pop and contemporary side of the State of Bahia. Starring Lázaro Ramos (Roque) and Queixão (Matheus Nachtergaele), also featuring Bando de Teatro Olodum, the series takes routine themes such as infidelity, piracy, homosexuality, poverty, and racial prejudice to the big screen.
